THE ROLE
As the IT Manager, you will own onsite IT operations for Covenant's new manufacturing facility in Leipzig. You will help build the site's IT environment from the ground up while providing day-to-day technical support to employees and ensuring our systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable.
This is a hands-on role covering infrastructure, networking, hardware, cloud systems, employee onboarding, and cybersecurity. You will work closely with our global IT organization while taking ownership of the technology environment at the Leipzig facility.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own day-to-day IT operations and help desk support for the Leipzig facility.
- Build and maintain onsite IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, Wi-Fi, workstations, and printers.
- Install and troubleshoot network equipment and structured cabling.
- Deploy and manage laptops, desktops, phones, peripherals, and other employee hardware.
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including accounts, access, hardware, and equipment recovery.
- Support cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, and user accounts.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
- Maintain IT asset inventory, system documentation, and site procedures.
- Support cybersecurity efforts including endpoint security, access controls, patching, backups, and incident response.
- Identify and respond to cybersecurity threats and work with global security teams on remediation.
- Manage local IT vendors, contractors, internet providers, and service providers.
- Support IT requirements for manufacturing systems and production operations.
- Help establish scalable IT processes as the Leipzig facility grows.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, help desk, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting networks, servers, endpoints, and physical IT infrastructure.
- Experience setting up IT systems and infrastructure for an office, facility, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing employee hardware, accounts, access, and onboarding/offboarding.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and SaaS applications.
- Practical understanding of cybersecurity threats and security best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Professional proficiency in German and English.
- Willingness to work onsite in Leipzig, Germany.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, or industrial facility.
- Experience building IT infrastructure for a new facility from the ground up.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, or similar platforms.
- Experience with next generation firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network security.
- Experience supporting ERP, MES, or other manufacturing systems.
- Experience using Ruckas WIFI network equipment.
- IT or cybersecurity certifications.
