This is a highly strategic, customer-facing leadership role responsible for translating operational requirements into technical solutions, driving product implementation, and building a world-class engineering team in the United States.
As the technical leader for our U.S. engineering organization, you will work directly with military customers, internal R&D teams, and executive leadership to ensure our platform meets mission requirements while balancing technical complexity, schedule, and cost. This role is ideal for an engineering leader who enjoys solving complex defense challenges, building teams from the ground up, and working in a fast-paced environment with significant ownership.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Serve as the primary technical interface with U.S. military customers, translating operational needs into engineering requirements.
- Lead technical discussions, negotiate product capabilities, and drive successful implementation of customer-specific requirements.
- Build and lead the U.S. engineering organization, hiring and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
- Partner closely with Product, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Business Development to deliver customer capabilities.
- Translate customer CONOPS into actionable software, systems, and hardware development plans.
- Lead system integration efforts across software, communications, navigation, and mechanical systems.
- Drive the technical execution of customer programs from requirements definition through field deployment.
- Ensure engineering solutions meet performance, reliability, cybersecurity, and deployment requirements.
- Balance customer requests with technical feasibility, schedule, and engineering investment while providing clear recommendations to leadership.
- Support customer demonstrations, technical reviews, integration events, and field testing.
- Help shape the long-term U.S. product roadmap by identifying emerging customer needs and future capability investments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of engineering experience developing complex defense, aerospace, or autonomous systems.
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Experience working directly with U.S. military or government customers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Experience leading technical integration efforts across software and hardware systems.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements management.
- Demonstrated experience translating customer operational requirements into engineering execution plans.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build and scale high-performing engineering organizations.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing offensive or defensive munition systems, loitering munitions, or other advanced weapon systems.
- Deep understanding of Command and Control (C2) systems and software integration.
- Experience integrating tactical communications, including MANET, Line-of-Sight (LOS), and SATCOM architectures.
- Familiarity with resilient navigation technologies, including GNSS, CRPA, P(Y) and M-Code GPS, anti-jam systems, and operation in contested electromagnetic environments.
- Experience integrating software and hardware systems into ruggedized military platforms.
- Understanding of military CONOPS and operational planning.
- Experience supporting customer field integration, deployment, and sustainment activities.
- Proven track record hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.
- Experience working in a high-growth defense technology company or startup environment.
WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL
- You are a strong technical leader who enjoys building teams and developing engineering talent.
- You excel at bridging the gap between customer needs and engineering execution.
- You think strategically and understand how engineering decisions impact manufacturing, supply chain, business development, and long-term product strategy.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments where ownership, accountability, and execution are valued over bureaucracy.
- You are motivated by solving mission-critical problems and building technology that directly supports the United States and its allies.
- You are excited by the opportunity to build something from the ground up and play a defining role in the growth of a rapidly scaling defense company.
