THE ROLE
We are seeking a hands-on Production Technician to support the assembly and production of advanced defense systems at our Leipzig manufacturing facility. This is a highly practical role focused on mechanical assembly, build quality, and production execution.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and enjoys working with tools and hardware. You will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality to assemble products efficiently, safely, and to exact specifications.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform mechanical assembly of production hardware, subassemblies, and finished systems.
- Follow work instructions, drawings, assembly procedures, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and basic measurement equipment to complete assemblies.
- Inspect components and completed assemblies for fit, finish, and workmanship.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly and escalate quality or design concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Support production line improvements and help identify opportunities to improve assembly processes and efficiency.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to resolve production issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, or a related hands-on technical role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how mechanical components and assemblies fit and function together.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement equipment.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Professional proficiency in German; English is a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience assembling aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, or other complex mechanical systems.
- Experience working with precision mechanical assemblies or production tooling.
- Familiarity with quality systems and manufacturing environments such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- Experience working in a high-growth manufacturing or startup environment.
- Technical training, apprenticeship, or vocational qualification in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, industrial manufacturing, or a related field.
