Running an in-person school involves a ton of operations. So does running a startup. We need someone who can do both.
I think this role will be insanely fun. If you joined us today, here’s a list of things you’d be working on:
Find a campus for the school. Negotiate the contract. Potentially build a co-working space inside of it and manage all of those subtenants. (I already have lots of leads here but haven't pulled the trigger yet.) Then, of course you'll need to build it out :). Create a robotics lab, furnish it, etc.
Housing. I want students to have the opportunity to live in the same place. I already have a good housing option, but want more before we lock it in. Then you'll need to figure out furnishing, costs, contracts, etc. - and help students get access to the housing, design the systems to answer questions students may have, etc.
Finance, accounting, legal, HR (recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing management). I'd love for you to immediately take on as much as you're capable of.
Business Development. I'm posting a separate job description for this, but a senior person might also be capable of managing our corporate and hiring partnerships with our insane set of logos. That means wrangling them, negotiating with them, and most importantly, delivering them value!
Student life. There will be a social side of student life and an operational side. This is more about the latter. You'll build systems so our students can study abroad (literally anywhere - like the Amazon, Antarctica, Tokyo, or Paris).
Regulatory. There's a lot of paperwork involved in setting up and running a school. You should be able to build an internal AI system that can easily fill this stuff out and deliver it to the right people.
CRM. Look at our website. Someone needs to organize all of this info into a massive database so that our students have access to the network in the easiest way possible.
There is likely a lot more. What you can tell is we need a jack of all trades. MBA-type (but obviously not necessary) - someone who is super organized and sharp, with high attention to detail and incredibly high horsepower.
